As Manager Ceramics & Catalysts and Testing, you will lead and align three key development areas at Hug Engineering: Ceramics, Catalysts and Testing. Together with your team, you ensure that our technologies, materials, and testing methods directly support our product and company strategy – from early-stage research through to series production.
In this leadership role, you will play a key part in advancing Hug’s product portfolio, particularly in the fields of catalyst systems and ceramic substrates, combining deep technical expertise with a clear strategic vision.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic and technical direction to the three development teams (Ceramics, Catalysts & Testing) and ensure their work contributes effectively to the company’s product & technology roadmap
- Drive the evolution of Hug’s catalyst and ceramic portfolio with a focus on performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability
- Act as the interface to ceramic and catalyst production, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, robust industrialization, and consistent product quality by defining and conducting effective and efficient quality control measures
- Oversee resource planning, material coordination, and project reporting – ensuring transparency, efficiency, and technical excellence
- Build strong links between material development, catalyst chemistry, and testing to create an integrated development approach
- Identify new materials, processes, and technologies that strengthen Hug’s innovation pipeline and competitive edge
YOUR PROFILE
- PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Process Engineering
- Proven experience in catalyst or filter development and optimization, ideally with ceramic substrates or exhaust aftertreatment systems
- Strong track record of innovation, demonstrated through patents, publications, or technology implementations
- Initial leadership experience or strong motivation to take on a people leadership role
- Strategic thinker with a clear understanding of how technology drives business value
- Experience in technology or product portfolio management is an advantage
- Excellent communication and decision making skills as well as conflict resolution ability
- Fluent language skills in German and English
