Hug Engineering is a leading company for low emissions solutions. We develop, manufacture, and product exhaust after-treatment systems for high-horsepower engines. As a Field Service Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers meet the most stringent emission requirements and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. 


In this position, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology, including selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Reduction (DPF), addressing the reduction of harmful pollutants like Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), and Particulate Matter (PM). Our products are used in a wide range of industries, such as on-road and off-road heavy-duty diesel equipment, power generation, marine vessels, offshore rigs, and locomotives.

Primary responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician, you will provide preventive and reactive maintenance on existing Hug systems, as well as commission new ones. You'll prepare yourself thoroughly before each intervention, ensuring you have the necessary documentation, tools, and parts. After completing the work, you'll provide accurate and timely reports to our end customers, as well as telephone support. All along you will be supported by back-office colleagues. Thanks to our latest technologies, in some specific cases, you will be able to provide maintenance services remotely as well.

Requirements

Your role will involve troubleshooting malfunctions, performing emission measurements and reports, and providing remote support to customers and colleagues. You'll also have the opportunity to carry out commissioning of various projects, coordinating and instructing customer support teams, and training customers on system operations and maintenance. Your dedication to optimal customer satisfaction and operational readiness will contribute to the success of the company.

Credentials

To succeed in this position, you ideally have completed training in the field of electrical engineering or mechanics, such as being a mechatronics technician, electronics technician, plant mechanic, industrial mechanic, or similar. Previous experience with engine and/or aftertreatment systems for high-horsepower applications is a plus. Your ability to perform complex troubleshooting, proficiency in industrial electrical systems, and familiarity with AC and DC circuits will be valuable assets. You should also be comfortable with mechanical work and physically demanding tasks. Autonomy, ownership mentality, and proficiency in MS Office suite are essential. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial for effectively collaborating with customers and colleagues.
