Hug Engineering, the leading company in exhaust gas aftertreatment for the global maritime industry, announced today that its innovative variNOx SCR aftertreatment solution has received the product type approval certificate by the Chinese Classification Society (CCS).

The type approval from the leading ship classification, the Chinese Classification Society (CCS), was issued in August after several audits and an intensive period of quality testing. It allows IMO TIER III certification according to scheme A and scheme B.

Because time consuming case-by-case certifications are no longer necessary, Hug Engineering will be able to provide its customers with faster and even more targeted NOx reduction solutions for the Chinese Marine SCR aftermarket and OEM market showing a yearly potential of approximate 4 Mio. EUR or more.

Hug Engineering’s variNOx SCR aftertreatment system is a proven, low-maintenance, easy to use, and reliable technology, supporting the shipping industry since many years in complying with the clean air regulations. In the past years, more than 100 systems have already been successfully sold to the Chinese market.
