MY MAJESTY 175” of Gulf Craft to be IMO Tier III certified with an exhaust gas after-treatment system of Hug Engineering for main engines and gensets.
Additionally to the SCR System, a Particulate Filter System will be installed on the genset.

Hug Engineering AG is about to deliver the IMO Tier III certified exhaust gas purification system for the first commercial megayacht over 500gt to be built by Gulf Craft.
Currently titled “Majesty 175”, it is the first world Commercial Yacht over 500gt made from GRP material and certified in full compliance with the MCA LY3 Code built by Gulf Craft. The magnificent 54 meters Majesty 175 has been developed in collaboration with Italian Naval Architect Mr. Massimo Gregory from Yankee Delta Studio based in Milan while her exterior styling and interior design are the works of Cristiano Gatto Studio. The Majesty 175 will show immense features never seen before on a megayacht of its size. She is planned to be launched Q2 of 2019.

Hug Engineering’s scope of supply consists of custom-made Nauticlean SCR (selective catalytic reduction) exhaust gas aftertreatment systems including the corresponding control technology for the two MTU main engines and the two gensets. Furthermore, the SCR system for the gensets is a combined solution with integrated particulate filters.

Hug Engineering is responsible for the entire certification process of the gensets. The certification will be performed on a test bench with a 195 kW genset and a Nauticlean SCR exhaust gas purification system. The main engines already have an IMO Tier III certification.
“We are very pleased to have our first project with an United Arab based Shipyard and appreciate the trust in our products and services” says Adorno Mazzanti, Sales Manager of Hug Engineering Switzerland.

With an SCR System to reach IMO Tier III limits, harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) are significantly reduced. With this technology, Gulf Craft will not only meet customer demands, but also international legislation in order to cruise within the NOx emission control areas (NECA’s).
IMO Tier III applies to vessels above 500gt that wish to cruise in the North American and the United States Caribbean Sea NOx Emission Control Areas (NECAs). Additional areas are expected to be designated NOx-ECAs in the future. In 2021, compliance will extend to all vessels below 500gt and longer than 24m.
