Comfort on board starts below deck: Hug Engineering at METSTRADE 2026

Marine

Amsterdam has more than 100 kilometres of canals. This November, one of the best places to talk about life on the water will be on dry land.

From 17 to 19 November, more than 1,700 exhibitors are expected at METSTRADE 2026 in RAI Amsterdam. Hug Engineering will be there with a clear focus: the engineering below deck that makes a difference above it.

One Solution. More Freedom.

A yacht’s exhaust system influences the cleanliness of its decks, the sound on board and the space available to its designers. These are the priorities behind our yacht emission control solutions.

Our Combined Solution brings selective catalytic reduction (SCR), a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and silencing together for propulsion engines and generator sets. The concept is tailored around available space, exhaust routing and service access. SCR reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx), while the DPF tackles soot and black carbon.

The benefits reach beyond the engine room:

  • Cleaner decks and surroundings: more than 98% black-carbon reduction through the DPF.
  • Quieter comfort on board: exhaust-noise reduction of up to 35 dB.
  • Long DPF service life: up to 9,000 operating hours, depending on the application.

Active DPF regeneration supports operation across varying engine loads, including variable-speed applications. Where permitted outside emission control areas (ECAs), switchable SCR allows lower urea consumption.

A partner throughout the journey

Our approach follows the same course as your project: understand, engineer, deliver and support. We start with your vessel and operating profile, then work through integration, certification and commissioning, with service and spare-parts support throughout operation.

We bring more than 40 years of Swiss engineering experience to that work, keeping the needs of shipyards, owners and crew in view at every stage.

Meet us in Amsterdam

Meet our Yacht team at stand 07.131, RAI Amsterdam, from 17 to 19 November 2026.

Whether you are planning a new build or a refit, bring your layout and operating priorities. Let’s explore a solution that fits your yacht and the experience you want on board.
