Chinese CMP and Swiss Hug Engineering sign cooperation agreement on SCR systems

Chinese Marine Power Co Ltd. (CMP) signed a cooperation agreement with Hug Engineering AG for the supply and production of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.

At a signing ceremony in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province on January 18, 2017, Chinese Marine Power Co Ltd. (CMP) signed a cooperation agreement with Hug Engineering for the supply and production of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. CMP is an engine manufacturing division of CSSC, the Chinese State Shipbuilding Corporation, one of the largest shipbuilders in China. This agreement formalizes a cooperation that started last year with the supply of the first SCR systems for CMP’s medium speed engines.

Zhang Hai Sen, Chairman of the Board  of CSSC Group, expressed his strong confidence in Hug Engineering being its premium partner for exhaust gas after treatment systems: “This exclusive agreement will be beneficial for both our companies as the demand for SCR systems will strongly increase in the near future”. The scope of the cooperation agreement includes production of steel components of the SCR systems by CMP.

Michael Hug, Chief Technical Officer of Hug Engineering, stated: “We are proud to enter into this cooperation agreement with CMP, one of the most experienced and largest engine builders in China”. Hug Engineering’s  SCR systems will enable CMP to meet  IMO Tier III certification of their engines. Peter Zijdemans, Head of Product Unit of Hug Engineering, said: “We are very happy to be able to assist CMP with our technology and to confirm our cooperation today with this agreement”.
