Hug Engineering, Switzerland, and Nießing Anlagenbau GmbH, Borken-Marbeck/Germany, have concluded an agreement for the co-development and marketing of integrated  soundproofing and exhaust gas purification systems.

The two partners will be working together to develop and market muffler/SCR and muffler/DPF systems as well as various combination systems. Drawing on their unique expertise and skills, the companies will be looking to bring together the benefits of emissions and noise reduction. The overall system from turbocharger to exhaust emission unit can thus be designed with a small footprint and low counter-pressure, as well as being equipped with a customized control device (either independent or integrated).

The products are targeted at both mobile and stationary applications, such as ships, yachts, trains, and power stations. Highly integrated combination systems developed by Hug offer genuine customer benefits, particularly in the yacht industry. Customers are supplied with an end-to-end exhaust gas abatement system featuring an integrated muffler – in the best possible quality. As all the key components required for such products are engineered by Hug and Nießing, the partners can offer tailor-made solutions for every field of application. This represents genuine added value for customers: a reduction of exhaust emissions to meet or exceed statutory requirements and improved noise emissions with the benefits of low counter-pressure and a compact design.
