Hug Engineering at CIMAC Congress 2025: Proudly Presenting on Home Soil
Every three years, the global large engine industry gathers at the CIMAC World Congress - a prestigious technical forum where engine manufacturers, suppliers, and users come together to share ideas, innovations, and challenges. This year, CIMAC 2025 takes place in Zurich from May 19 to 23, and for Hug Engineering, it marks an exciting milestone - A world-class congress hosted right here on our home ground in Switzerland!
Why CIMAC Matters – and Why We’re All In
As a consistent and active CIMAC participant, Hug Engineering has long contributed to the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge and the advancement of emission control solutions. Our engineering experts are once again taking center stage - sharing field experience, technological breakthroughs, and collaborating with fellow specialists across the globe.
This year’s focus reflects the key shifts in the large engine industry:
- Decarbonization
- Multi-fuel readiness (methanol, ammonia, hydrogen)
- Emissions compliance
- System reliability in demanding applications
And Hug Engineering is right in the middle of it all.
Meet Our Experts – Sharing Knowledge on the Congress Stage
Our engineers will be presenting five technical papers during the congress week. Each paper highlights our role as a go-to partner for advanced exhaust aftertreatment solutions for large engines:
- 505 – Ultra-low emission vessel field experience
- 507 – Hydrogen combustion engine exhaust gas aftertreatment
- 508 – Methanol combustion engine exhaust gas aftertreatment
- 509 – Ammonia combustion engine exhaust gas aftertreatment
- 514 – Medium speed engine oils optimized for ultra low emission profiles
👉 If you want to schedule a discussion around these topics and much more, contact our Engineering Director Dino Imhof at dino.imhof@hug-engineering.com.
Visit Us at Booth 103 – Let’s Talk Innovation
Throughout the week, you’ll find Hug Engineering in the CIMAC exhibition area (Booth 103). Step by and talk to our team about the challenges and innovations shaping our industry.
We’ll be showcasing four major topics that define our work today and tomorrow:
1. Methanol-Ready Aftertreatment
- Field-proven systems already in operation
- Tackling real-world challenges of methanol combustion
- Supporting engine builders transitioning to low-carbon fuels

2. Ultra-Low Emission Solutions for Data Centers
- Enabling high-density engine installations in regulated zones
- Tailor-made systems for diesel, gas, and biofuel engines
- Ideal for mission-critical, fast-response power demands

3. DPF for Large, Medium-Speed Engines
- Designed for stationary power and offshore vessels
- Unique filter substrate allows ash migration = longer service intervals
- Proven on-field success

4. Very Long Service Intervals
- Reduced downtime & lower maintenance costs
- Patented particle filter ceramic for large engines
- Robust fuel-specific catalyst technology

👉 Whether you're navigating emission regulations or planning your next low-carbon system, our team is ready to discuss how we can support you.
