Hug Engineering to Exclusively Supply Major Engine Manufacturer with IMO Tier III Emission Reduction.

Hug Engineering announced to have signed a “5-Year-Direct Supply Agreement” with a major engine manufacturer last May for the supply of IMO Tier III solutions for several engine types.
The Hug Engineering SCR systems have multiple configuration options in order to have an optimal fit with the engine room layout.

Operators will have the flexibility to run at IMO III mode when required and switch to IMO II levels when allowed by pausing the SCR system while sailing. This flexibility minimizes urea consumption to the limit.

The choice adding our proven SCR technology to their established engine family is an important reward for us. We are happy to deepen our great co-operation by supporting this OEM in meeting regulatory emission standards. It shows again how we are able to help engine manufacturers with our know-how in emission technology with sustainable and economic systems.

Peter Zijdemans,
Vice President Account Management of Hug Engineering.

IMO Tier III certified engines are compulsory for entering NOx Emission Control Areas (NECA zones) and are mandatory in these areas for vessels built after January 1, 2016.

Hug Engineering has the technical know-how and, with its parent company Faurecia, the financial backbone and leverage to ensure a constant power of innovation on the market.
